This is a course developed to be initial training for personnel pursuing qualification of Computed Radiography Level 2 to meet the minimum formal training requirements of SNT-TC-1A and NAS410. This class will consist of formal training using lecture, visual aids, open discussion, quizzes, and hands on experience.

Topics to include: Computed Radiography Overview (CR vs Film), Image Display Characteristics, DR System Components, Image Fidelity Attributes, Image Viewing, Evaluation of CR Images , Imaging Plate Attributes, Image Display Monitor Characteristics, Viewing Environment Application Techniques, Image Interpretation, Process Controls (System Baseline and Degradation Monitoring), Equipment Maintenance, Evaluation of Castings, Evaluation of Weldments, Standards, Codes, and Procedures for Radiography, Radiological Safety Principle Review.
