American Testing Services has a wide range of experience in the construction and facility maintenance field. Although most of these types of inspections are planned ahead, occasions arise when they have not been pre-planned and require a quick response. This circumstance could be due to a questionable situation during the construction process. Upon review, the decision may be made to perform non-destructive testing (NDT) prior to any further construction work.
Frequently in construction, planned inspections or testing must be performed to a schedule. Thus, inspections need to be performed in an “on call” manner. These periodic inspections take place as construction progresses in phases. American Testing Services understands the responsibility to be there when needed without creating delays in the overall construction project.
Some of the facility maintenance inspections we perform are due to an expansion of an existing system, a scheduled system inspection, or a system failure. We‘ve often performed inspections for customers that were just curious about their given system. In such cases, no periodic maintenance NDT had been performed. Some customers had no record of or any manufacturer’s recommendations for NDT. In these situations, we may perform magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, radiography, and eddy current inspections.
