If you know Chris Small, you know he is a big guy with a big appetite!  Chris loves eating out at the many great locally owned restaurants and pubs in the Miami Valley.  Each month he’ll share one of his favorites with you.

Here’s the story.  Bob wanted a bar.  Nate wanted to run a business.  Lisa wanted Bob and Nate out of her hair.  Thus was sparked the idea of a family business.  But what could they agree on?  Good food and beer had always been a reliable source of numerous gatherings with family and friends.  Coupling their strengths and experience, plus the availability of one of Dayton’s historic buildings and legendary music venues, gave birth to Blind Bob’s.

I can personally attest to the fact that Blind Bob’s has an excellent selection of good food and a wide selection of beers. It’s always a hard decision what to order, so I usually sit down at the bar with a couple of friends and order a Southern Tier 312 (named for Chicago’s area code).  Then I might have a bowl of Pickle Soup.  I know it sounds weird, but it is incredible.

If you are really hungry, try one of their Stuffed Burgers.  The Ragin’ Cajun is my favorite – a half pound Cajun seasoned burger stuffed with bleu cheese and bacon.  And you HAVE TO get the seasoned waffle fries with it.

If you want something a little lighter, try The Screamer – a grilled chicken breast dipped in teriyaki glaze, topped with lettuce, pineapple and wasabi mayo.  It makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Want something even healthier?  Blind Bob’s serves excellent salads which are also all available as wraps.

Bob’s is well known as a live entertainment venue and for their support of local talent.  A schedule of upcoming bands is posted on their website.  And pretty soon, it will be time to enjoy the patio as well.
