ESOP Plan Ensures Stability and Future Opportunities for Employees
January 2, 2019 (Miamisburg, Ohio) – American Testing Services, Ltd., a local non-destructive testing, metallurgy, and NDT calibration services company,announced today that it is now 100% employee owned through the formation of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The news was officially unveiled during a company-wide meeting. As an employee-owned company, American Testing Services will operate under the same business model and continue to provide the same quality inspection services customers have come to expect.
Established in 2002 in Dayton, Ohio, American Testing Services has grown from a small inspection house with 3 employees to a respected industry leader currently employing 34. With a broad customer base in the aerospace,amusement park, commercial manufacturing, construction/facility maintenance,fabricating/welding, foundry, and military industries, the company has earned numerous certifications, accreditations, and supplier approvals pushing them to the forefront of the inspection industry.

An ESOP is an employee benefit plan, which provides company stock to employees as part of their retirement benefit plan. By becoming 100% employee-owned, company stock is now held in trust by the ESOP.
With the ESOP transition, Chris Small is retiring and handing over daily operations of the company to Paul Drerup, who will serve as President & CEO. Nathaniel Reveal will step into the new role of Vice President, and Ben Graves will become the NDT Services Manager. Amanda Dancy will assume the position of Office Manager. “We have been given a great opportunity to take the strong foundation laid by Chris and continue building the company,” said Drerup.“While a few key staff members are advancing into new leadership roles, our overall structure will remain the same. Customers will work with the same staff members as in the past. Our new ownership culture will position American Testing Services to write a strong next chapter.”
