The Oakwood Club – 2414 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, OH 45419 – www.theoakwoodclub.com
The Oakwood Club was established in 1962 by Ray and Margie Stewart. Since that time they have maintained one goal – to provide the finest quality service and food to their customers in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Oakwood Club uses the finest ingredients and products available. They carefully select only Midwestern beef that has been aged 21 days and meets their rigid specifications. Their well-marbled steaks are hand cut and expertly trimmed in their own kitchen, then broiled to perfection. Their seafood is flown in fresh daily from the East, West, and Florida coastlines.
If you are looking for fine dining with a warm and friendly atmosphere, you are looking at the right place. The Oakwood Club has a nice, cozy bar with a wide variety of libations.
When I visit, it is really hard to decide what to order. If you are in the mood for something a little different, order the Escargots in Garlic Butter as an appetizer. They are excellent! If you want some variety in your entree, you can’t go wrong with the Ship to Shore Dinner – a 6 oz. African Tristan lobster tail and a 6 oz. filet mignon. A salad and choice of two sides are included. I recommend the baked sweet potato with cinnamon butter and fresh vegetables as side dishes. The Oakwood Club has a wide variety of other beef, pork, lamb, and seafood selections. But I say, when you go to The Oakwood Club, go big or go home!
