If you know Chris Small, you know he is a big guy with a big appetite!  Chris loves eating out at the many great locally owned restaurants and pubs in the Miami Valley.  Each month he’ll share one of his favorites with you.

The Trolley Stop – 530 E. Fifth Street, Dayton, OH  45402 – visit their Facebook pageTrolleyStop-cropped.104950

The Trolley Stop is a small neighborhood tavern featuring a great beer selection and farm-fresh healthy food made from scratch.  There are 10 rotating craft beers on tap, a good selection of import and domestic beers, and a full service bar.

The Trolley Stop has a relaxing patio in the back – a perfect spot when the weather is nice.  They offer a wide variety of  live music – from Old Time Acoustic to Folk to Indie Alternative to Rock and Blues to Zydeco and Bluegrass.

The Trolley Stop is the oldest continually operating tavern in Dayton, and this great little place is one of my favorites!  If you are a chip and dip fan, order the Herbie Dip with Potato Chips – it’s awesome.  I love the Santa Fe Chicken Salad, featuring spring mix, marinated chicken, tomatoes, black beans, onions, cheese, red peppers, tortilla strips, and a zesty ranch dressing.  I also recommend the Crab Cake Sandwich and the Hippy Stacker (marinated chicken, bacon, avocado, Swiss cheese, herb mayo, lettuce, and tomato).  Both are amazing!  They also feature daily specials, so stop in to see what’s cookin’!

The food, libations, and service here at this little Dayton landmark are truly top notch.
