While our main focus at American Testing Services is on performing a variety of inspection services for our customers, we also frequently offer NDT training courses. In fact, we have customers with their own NDT departments who rely on us just for this training.
In the world of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), specification guidelines are followed for each of the inspection methods we perform. Generally, each specification requires an inspector to be certified to a given program, such as SNT-TC-1A (Society for Non-Destructive Testing) or NAS 410 (National Aerospace Standard). These programs include training and testing outlines that must be met in order for inspectors to become certified. Such requirements are very common in the aerospace, military, power generation, and manufacturing industries, just to name a few.
With our expert staff, American Testing Services can offer training in all of the traditional NDT methods. Read more here. All of our open enrollment classes cover the requirements of both SNT-TC-1A and NAS 410, as they are the most common certification programs. If you need training for a specific methodology and don’t see an upcoming class on our training calendar, please contact us. We may be able to put something together that will meet your needs.
In addition to open enrollment courses, we are also able to offer customized training. Our staff is able to create a course designed for your employees that incorporates your techniques, processes, and/or applications. These classes can be held at your facility, making the training even more convenient for your staff.
Perhaps you have a project with very specific inspection needs. Maybe you are unsure what inspection type is most suitable for your application. Our experts can assist in determining the appropriate inspection method with a study of the areas of interest, proof of inspection method, and technique development. Custom training around this specific application can then be designed for your employees.
If your needs go beyond training, American Testing Services can provide you with Level III consulting services. Some customers have a NDT program of their own but choose not to staff a full-time Level III. Our consulting services are a cost effective way to procure the program oversite they need. Our Level III certified staff will assist you in procedure writing and inspection development. They can qualify candidates for certification and are available for on-site audit support.
