As part of our policy of continuous improvement, we have replaced one of our magnetic particle machines with a multi-directional unit.  A multi-directional unit allows the operator to complete the contact shot (which induces a circular field) and the coil shot (which induces a longitudinal field) at the same time.  As you might expect, this reduces part handling and will increase our efficiency for some of our commerical customers whose specifications allow multi-directional testing.
